There’s the sound of the whistle, the train’s coming in, and you wait, short of breath, as a journey begins…

In 2010, we return to the Dovehouse Theatre to perform the musical The Railway Children with book and lyrics by Julian Woolford and music by Richard John, from the famous novel by E. Nesbit.

Performances will be on Wednesday 24th–Saturday 27th March 2010.

Wednesday 24th – Friday 26th March: 7.30pm
Saturday 27th March: 2.00pm and 7.00pm

About the story

An idyllic Edwardian family Christmas is interrupted by a knock at the door and a family’s life is changed forever.

Father is wrongfully arrested and Mother and the three children, Roberta (Bobbie), Peter and Phyllis, are forced to move to the country.

Discovering a railway near their house is just the beginning of a series of adventures set over one long summer.
